To support the continuing education of its members, The IIBA Portland Metro Chapter is forming a BABOK® Study Group for those interested in CBAP®, CCBA® or ECBA® certifications and IIBA Phoenix Chapter members are invited. Make becoming certified part of your New Year’s resolution, it benefits you and your career! 

The goal is to cover the complete BABOK® Version 3 over the course of 14 weeks for those preparing to take the CBAP®, CCBA® or ECBA® exams. Participation in the Chapter sponsored study group will satisfy 21 hours of the Certification Application requirement of Professional Development.

The kick off meeting will be held on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 from 10 to 11:30 am PST (11 am to 12:30 pm MST) virtually through Zoom. You must attend the kickoff to participate in the study group. 

What to expect: 
Jennifer Colburn, President and Hilary Rogers, VP of Professional Development, will provide an overview of the application and exam process, as well as lessons learned from other study groups. They will assist the group in identifying a coordinator volunteer, documenting ground rules, and ensuring everyone understands how study groups work. 

Each session will be facilitated by a different member of the study group, reviewing a chapter of BABOK® content, with group discussion to resolve specific questions. Every participant must read the chapter in advance of the meeting. Participants are expected to attend all 14 sessions from February 5th through May 7th. 

What you need after the kickoff:
We will provide an invoice via paypal to pay the fee, $25 for members and $75 for non-members, to participate in the Study Group.

Please bring your copy (electronic or hard copy) of the BABOK, which can be found here: http://www.iiba.org/babok-guide.aspx. This is free for IIBA members. If you are not an IIBA Member, you can purchase one, but we highly recommend you do a cost benefit analysis of becoming a member (discount on exam, free BABOK, etc) before doing so. 

Note: Study Group members will be expected to purchase the supplemental study guide “CBAP Certification Study Guide (3rd Edition)” by Watermark Learning. These are available through Amazon https://www.amazon.com/watermarklearning or Watermark Learning https://www.watermarklearning.com/certification/cbap/cbap-study-guidev3.php) that covers each BABOK® chapter and includes test questions. Study group participants will also receive a code for 20% off Watermark online simulator and practice exams.

Please note this study group is open to everyone but understand that this course is taught in American English.
