Better Product Discovery with Journey & Story Mapping
Great products are created when everyone in the product & delivery team has a common shared understanding. The agile movement created a notion of 'backlog' which is a single, prioritized list of user stories for the team to implement. This works well for organizing what the team should work on in the near term, e.g. during sprint planning but quite often fails to show the big picture and get everyone on the same page.
Journey & Story mapping is a collaborative and quick technique where you extract all interactions with the product from the beginning to the end of the usage flow. Though a story map isn't necessarily a replacement for product backlog which is essentially one-dimensional, a story map is two-dimensional, indicating the priority of stories, as well as their relation to each other and the larger goals of the users. Story mapping helps in engaging the entire team and understanding how stories fit together to form a releasable product.
In this session you will learn how to extract your team’s creative ideas, impart critical product knowledge and co-create product backlog which drives higher engagement and accountability and shifts your team’s focus from delivering output to driving outcome.
