Speaker Bio

Kristen Call, Intel, America’s IoT (Internet of Things) Sales Specialists

Kristen has 25+ years experience in retail.  After receiving a B.S. in philosophy and sociology from the University of Utah, she launched a career in retail.  She grew up in the c-store industry with her grandfather starting a convenience store company in 1928, opening a two-pump gas station in a small town in Wyoming.  She ran c-stores starting as a clerk and worked her way up to a supervisor position.  Her c-store experience propelled her BA career with opportunities to define business challenges and provide IT requirements. Juggling work and family, she decided that going back to school to get a masters degree was a great idea.  She graduated from the University of Phoenix in International Business in 2000.  Not being challenged enough on life, she gained invaluable experience starting her own IoT centric solution in 2003 connecting the internet to enable kiosks to interface with fuel pumps and payments together. Her claim to fame is being on the front page of the Wall Street journal and Nightline. She has worked in large companies such as American Express, NCR, Pier 1, and PetSmart. She has held roles in the SDLC process from business analysts, to QA, to product/project/program management.

Kristen is currently working at Intel as the America’s IoT sales specialist focusing on Retail, Banking, Hospitality, and Education.  She has a unique position where she gets to work with hundreds of companies doing incredible things and providing match making opportunities throughout the technology ecosystem.  Intel is more than a chip manufacturer.  Intel is solution agnostic and partners with hardware providers all the way to the retailer in meeting the demands of doing business today.  While she currently does not hold a business analyst title, there is always a place and time for BA work when dealing with technology and understanding business needs.
